Cheap Dior.

For fashion, sometimes, we need to be creative. For example we can't always afford the $499 chanel dress and the $500 Manolo Blahnik shoes. But if we look around in a selective way, we maybe could find our Chanel look-a-like dress in a second-hand store or in a more casual store.
It doesn't have to be always that expensive. Just be creative.
I tried this with Dior's simple looks.

L'art du chocolat.

Follow an artist during the process of creating an artwork.
I didn't choose a painter or a sculptor, I choose a chocolatier - which is actually a combination of the two, isn't it?
Why did I choose for a chocolatier? My father works as a baker and back in time he used to make sculptures in chocolate and sugar too. It was incredible how much patience and concentration was needed. It was pure artwork.
Because my father doesn't make things like that anymore, I searched for another chocolatier and found one. His name is Thomas and he is actually a quite young man, which makes the things he creates even more amazing.

Today, I went there for my first phase of photographing, he already made the base. Tomorrow, I will photograph the last steps of his process.

Portrait: Famous person.

A portrait with a person, everybody knows.

Sounds cool but it's rather difficult. It's actually more difficult than I thought. I tried to contact people like: Gunther Neefs, Marie Vinck, Geert Hoste, Guy Van Sande,... Always a no-show.
After two months, it became clear that I had to be less "picky".. I mean: in stead of contact only one person at time - because I really wanted him or her (and wait until you hear a 'no') - I had to contact like thousands of people at the same time to have only one answer which says okay.

The person who said okay was Luc Caals, he's a funny actor who played in a lot of childseries but spends most of his time on the theater-stage.
He sounded so friendly on the telephone I was relieved and so grateful he wanted to help me.
So I made three portraits and made a great use of his expression.

Les Liaisons Dangereuses.

My first part for my thesis is done !

Fashion: Filmrevue.

We had to choose a movie out of a list and I choose "Dangerous Liaisons".
Why did I choose this one?
First: It seemed like a great challenge.
Second: Alan Rickman plays a role in one of the theater-versions.
And third: I like the style of that century.
